Lamm
Governor
April 4, 1984
Mr. Richard Wright
Mining Engineer
Twenty-mile Coal Company
P. 0. Box 897
Oak Creek, CO 80467
Re: Foidel Creek Mine
Subsidence Monument Survey
Dear Richard:
The Division has reviewed Twentymile Coal Company's first semi-annual
subsidence monitoring report for the Foidel Creek underground mine.
Mining has not yet approached close enough to the subsidence monuments
adjoining the Foidel Creek to influence those monuments. In addition,
mining has not advanced close enough to any of the alluvial or over-
burden aquifer monitoring wells to cause any observable hydrologic
influences. Therefore, the Division agrees with your conclusion that
no surface structures have been impacted by mining and that no material
damage has taken place to date. The report is acceptable as presented.
Sincerely,
Sandra L. Emrich
Reclamation Specialist
SE/nm
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
