CANYON SAND AND GRAVEL ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2005
This yeaz Canyon Sand and gravel completed excavation and reclamation of both the
north and south ends of the permit azea and lake shore for the permit numberM-88-057.
The grass planted around the lake to the inner slope is now well established. This
includes the dike on the east side and the burin on the west side. The slope has been
excavated to the 1 to 3 slope and that slope has been faced with rocks to prevent any
erosion from water or wildlife.
The center will be excavated next year until only an island remains, perhaps leaving the
access road that now exists instead of a bridge which will be an aesthetic decision when
the time comes. We expect to move the crushers out next year to the stockpile azea to
finish the island's formation. When the stockpiles are removed and the crusher sold,
which is scheduled for 2007, the topsoil that has been scraped back and piled will be used
in the reclamation back to pasture that year. This area has been an area that we have
intended to plow and level for proper irrigation along with the adjacent pasture just north
so it will all be done together at the finish.
The original permit area for the Canyon Sand and Crravel project has its reclamation
complete as of September of 2005.
