DBEPE FARM PIT <br /> RECEIVED <br /> Annual Monitoring Report <br /> June , 1987 - June, 1988 JUN 24 1988 <br /> This is the fifth annual monitoring report for L Pit <br /> operated by Flatiron Sand & Gravel Company, P.6.� M14 0t4W Z100q, <br /> Colorado 80306. It covers the period of June 23 , 1987 through <br /> June 22 , 1988. <br /> The following questions and answers are submitted to meet require- <br /> ments for annual reports to the MLRD. <br /> 1. What are the locations and numbers of acres affected during <br /> the past year? <br /> Excavation was completed on approximately 9 acres in the <br /> southern half of Stage 2 . See map. <br /> 2. What are the locations and numbers of acres reclaimed this year? <br /> Approximately 5 acres in the southwestern part of Stage 2 <br /> were shaped and seeded. All excavation has occurred in Stage 1 <br /> previously which is the plant site area. This area has been <br /> lowered approximately 10 feet below the original grade to limit <br /> noise and for aesthetic reasons. Reclamation will occur in <br /> Stage 1 after all other areas are mined and reclaimed. See map. <br /> 3. What are the locations and numbers of acres in various stages <br /> of reclamation? <br /> Approximately 5 acres in the eastern and southeastern portion <br /> of Stage 2 will be shaped and seeded in 1988-89 . See map. <br /> 4 . What species of vegetation have been planted? What are the <br /> locations and approximate dates of planting? <br /> A dryland pasture mix consisting of Lincoln smooth brome, <br /> crested wheatgrass , perennial rye, intermediate wheatgrass , <br /> and annual ryegrass were planted on 5 acres in the southeastern <br /> area of Stage 2 on May 31, 1988. See map. <br /> 5 . What are the types , quantities and locations of fertilizers used? <br /> No fertilization has occurred during this reporting period. <br /> 6. What is the company' s appraisal of reclamation efforts? <br /> Although reclamation is still in an early stage, we think it� <br /> is progressing satisfactorily. <br /> 7. What are the locations and numbers of acres to be affected <br /> during the next reporting year? <br /> Stripping and excavation will continue in Stage 2 on approximately <br /> 11 acres in the northwestern portion of the pit. Reclamation <br /> will be concurrent. See map. <br />
