DMG Permit No. M-88-112
Monthly Sampling ~ -
Dear Mr. Dillie:
All required sampling was completed during the month of October. Enclosed are analytical
reports from Sangre De Cristo lab for the recent bi-weekly and monthly sampling periods as
specified in the April 1992 Abatement Plan. Analysis that have not been received will be forwarded
to you as I receive them.
The NANO/RO water treatment plant operated intermittently during the month.
Work continued on the stormwater diversion on Waste Rock "C" and the project is approximately
50% complete.
Approval was given by the Division for the pipeline from the evaporation system collection pond to
the tailings impoundment. Construction of the trench for the pipeline has not yet began.
All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry.
Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample.
When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on
10/27/99, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water.
The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 10/28/99, with the following
result: BF-1 was 14.SS.ft and BF-2 was 18.20 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area were also
checked with the following result: PW-1 was 18.21 ft, PW-2 was 17.75 ft, PW-3 was 25.57 ft and PW-4
was 26.37 ft.
The underdrain was measured at approximately 29 gpm.
The collection pond's leak detection system was sampled and pumped dry. The leak was
measured at approximately 37 GPAD.
The evaporation system was in operation most of the month with the superspray system. The
snowblowers were removed this month. Down time was attributed To routine maintenance or
pump repair.
~~~
A SUBSlDlARY OF BATTLE ,410UNTAlN GOLD COMPANY
P.O. Box 310 San Luis.
