- Stripped for mining (10.5 acres) -This land did not change in the past year, other than to
shrink about an acre. That reduction is accounted for in the expansion of the mining area on the south
side of the quarry.
Mining During 1998: During the next yeaz, little change will occur. Mining on the soutlc side of the
quazry will continue to expand an acre or two more. Mining on the north side will probably expand a
little as the road is changed co that location and the upper part of the exposed fault is rem~>ved.
It is expected that the first benches on the south side of the quazry will be seeded during the
next yeaz. This will allow fora "catch up" to bring the reclamation scheduling into line with the new
plans. At present, only mining procedures have been changed to the new plan. The next step in
changing to the new plan is to reclaim the land completed with mining under the previou> plan as well
as the new plan. That needs to be done in more or less a single operation so there is consistency in the
reclamation applied.
Menzer Quarry 1997 Annual Report IM-76-009-HR) Due: Dec 31, 1997 gage 2 of 2
