Box 86 <br />San Luis, Colorado 81152 <br />Subject: July 1996 Water-Sampling Results <br />Dear Mr. Vigil: <br />The San Luis City Well No. 1 was sampled on July 23, 1996. The water samples were <br />analyzed for cyanide, total metals, and fluoride as outlined in paragraph 26 of Battle <br />Mountain's Water Decree, Case No. 89CW32. The analysis report is attached. The <br />concentrations of all constituents are below the Colorado Drinking Water Standards. <br />The three pairs of lysimeters located west of the tailings disposal area have been <br />checked bi-weekly April 1992 thru March 1996 and quarterly since March 1996. All <br />lysimeters have been dry. <br />The next sampling event will take place in January 1997.
