DMG Permit No. M-88-112 <br />Quarterly, Monthly and Bi-weekly Sampling <br />Dear Mr. Dillie: <br />All required sampling was completed during the month of March. Enclosed are analytical reports <br />from Accu-Labs and CORE laboratories. Analysis that have not been received will be forwarded to <br />you as I receive them. Field and rinse blanks were collected as part of the QA/QC. <br />The Surface water stations RS-4 and RS-b were inspected and found to be dry. <br />Wlien we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on April <br />Ol , 1998 the piezometers were dry or confained well below 12 inches of water. <br />the two new west pit piezometers were measured for depth io water on April 02, 1998 with the <br />following resulf: BF-lwas 12.40 ft and BF-2 was 16.10 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine area <br />were also checked with the following resulf: PW-1 was 14.40 ft, PW-2 was 15.45 ft, PW-3 was 23.73 ft <br />and PW-4 was 26.60 ft. <br />The underdrain was at approximately 31 gpm and the leak detection was frozen in March anci we <br />were unable fo sample fluids or determine volume. <br />Sincerely, <br />R~umwc,l <br />Enclosures <br />cc: Bill Lyle <br />Dan Robertson <br />File <br />
