Four monitoring sites lie within the Craeey Creek drainage: <br />Surface Water Sita SR-52-1, located upatxesm on Creasy Crack; NPDES Discharge Point 003, <br />also known as the Shop Reservoir or the Northwest Impoundment, located just north of the <br />mine chap area; Surface Rater Site SW-ST-2, located approximately 0.1 mile downs tresm of <br />• where NPDES 003 dischargaa into Grassy Creak; and Surface RatAx Site SW-S2-3, which <br />monitors discharges from pre-SMCRA mining areas and io located adjacent to Sita SW-52-2. <br />Surface Rntar Site SR-S2-1 (SSGS). This vita monitors the upper reaches o! Craeey Creak <br />which era undisturbed by mining of the Sanaca II Hina. Review of the hydzograph of <br />monthly flat readings shore the highest peak floc on record. Reviar of the TD9 plot <br />indicates a slightly increasing trend. <br />HPDES Discharge Point 003 (NPDES3). Hydroqraphs presented in Appandiz D shot that llow <br />has incraaead at this site since September 1B, 19Bd, when operation of the truck wash <br />facilities began. Rater is siphoned from the Radge Impoundment (NPDES 002) into a holding <br />pond. Overflow from the holding pond is diverted into the shop ditch, rhich llowa into <br />NPDES 003. Rater is pumped from the holding pond to the rash rack, drnins into a settling <br />pond, and then into the acme shop ditch. This operation has incraaead the Plor aC NPDEB <br />003 rhile Qecreasinq the flow at NPDE9 002. Two other events that effected the long-term <br />hydrograph include the diversion gray lrom NPDES 003 oP ronoft from an inactive fly ash <br />• pit (operated by the Hayden Station power plant) in October, 1980: and the diversion away <br />from HPDE9 003 of runot! contained in the Northrast Diversion Ditch (sae the Seneca II <br />13 <br />
