BASIC INDiISTRIES, INC. , CJ~]T DIVISION The Goodwin Gypsum quarry is an intermittent operation which supplies the Boettcher cement plant at the rate of about 18,000 tons per year. The Boettcher plant temporarily suspended production on October 1, 1982, un- til market demand for cement increases. Consequently, there has been no production from the Goodwin Gypsimm property since that time. The only activity that has occurred is the start of reclamation on approximately six (6) acres of mined-out area and the grading of a new r*7iaher operating area near the west outcrops. The accompanying map, bcc-1367a, ancithe in- formation presented is intended to comply with Rule 2.41 of the Rules and Regulations. (1) Location and Number of Acres Affected During the Year. The affected acres for this report total 40 acres under bond. Actual disturbance has been only 2.5 acres in the grading of the ne~a crusher operation area, plus the old quarry and crusher site of less than 10 acres. (2) Location and Number of Acres Reclaimed During the Year. There are no areas considered as reclaimed at this time. (3) Location and Number of Acres in the Various Stages of Reclamation. Approximately six (6) acres of the quarry site in the southeast por- tion of the property have been graded and planted to native grasses as recommended by the United States Soil Conservation Service. (4) Species of Vegetation Planted, the Location and Date Planted. The mined-out quarry near the southeast corner of the outcrop areas was planted with the following native grass seed mix recommended by the United States Soil Conservation Service: Little Bluestem Sideoats Grams Indian Ricegrass 5 lbs. per acre 6 8 True Mountain Mahogany 1/2 Blue Grama 1/2 (at request of surface owner) The planting was done on April 29, 1983.
