Box 1237 Grand Junction, Colorado 81 RE: Mesa County Mining Opera Dear Mr. Sommerfeld: Enclosed please find my inspection 3~ports for th~4 Road Pit, the Hartman Pit, and the 13 Road Pit. \ I found our meeting of August 18th to very p oductive and I hope that Mesa County has a better understanding o its bligations under the Pfined Land Reclamation Act. with reference to ou question regarding the necessity of obtaining a permit for a stoc ile area [which is geographically removed from the source of aggregate, it Joseph Zalkind's opinion (Minerals Supervisor) that a permit would not be r qui ed. However, if possible, these stockpile areas should be wittin permit ed ar sand certainly should be reclaimed.
