Quarterly monitoring of monuments R27-R33 along county road #27 is required until
two monitoring episodes show no further movement. Data reported for these five
monuments (R29 and R30 destroyed?) indicates a baseline survey dated 6/30/94 and
a measurement taken on 2/5/96, corresponding to the first measurement following
undermining of these monuments. Please submit the monitoring data for the second
quarter of 1996.
2. The approves permit commits to a baseline survey of Foidel Creek prior to
undermining. The Division was informed verbally that this survey was conducted.
As this survey is a required part of the subsidence monitoring program, it should be
submitted in the report for the period for which it was collected. Please submit the
channel survey for Foidel Creek.
Road monitoring indicates subsidence impacts are within the predictions stated in the
permit. Approximately 50 inches of subsidence was measured at the center of Panel 9R
which, at this time, is less than the maximum predicted.
The Division requests that TCC indicate cross-cut locations on structure monitoring forms
as the approved monitoring program relies on distance from the longwall face to determine
monitoring frequency. This will be more important as mining progresses in the Eastern
Mining District.
Please continue to conduct monitoring precisely as required by your approved permit.
