-z-
there should be little hazard from excess ,sodium.
PHYSICAL RESULTS
The textures of the soil samples are of a fine-textured nature which is
typical of soils developed from western marine formations. Most of the
soils are silty clay looms, with a few silt loans and 1 clay loam. The
saturation percentages reflect this "heavy" type of soil texture. Some
crusting problems may be associated with these soils if left exposed to a
heavy rain. Organic matter contents are adequate.
FERTILIZER RECOMMENDATIONS
Revegation processes will benefit from the addition of fertilizer ammend-
ments to assist the plants' growth. Therefore, the following feritlizer
additions are suggested:
Nitrogen--30 pounds per acre as ammonium nitrate (90 pounds of the material)
Phosphorus--40 pounds per acre as 0-45-0 (90 pounds of the material)'
Potassium--30 pounds per acre as 0-0-62 (fD pounds of the material)
Since both phosphorus and potassium are beneficial in promoting good
root development, the fertilizer ammendments should be worked into the upper
portion of the soil profile before planting. They do not move with water.
Respectfully submitted by:
r~~
D. F. Champion, Certified Soil Scientist
Soltesco Soil and Water Consultants 9/26/88
