• The two wells, WR-2 and WR-3 were completed above and
below the initial waste rock pile. Monthly water
level recordings were initiated in September 1981.
Well WR-2 was destroyed in June 1982 during construc-
tion of the parking lot and shop warehouse. A new
well, WR-2 was completed in November, 1982 at a loca-
tion 49 feet upslope of the original well. Wells
SOM-2H and SOM-16H were completed in late October,
1981. These wells monitor water levels in the F-coal
seam updip of the permit boundary. Deep snow cover
did not permit winter monitoring of these two wells.
Monthly monitoring of water levels commenced in May,
1982.
• Well water level hydrographs from January, 1980
through Water Year 1982 are provided in Appendix C.
Water levels and corresponding monitoring dates are
tabulated in the quarterly monitoring reports.
Wells SOM-38-H-1 and SOM-38-H-2 were obstructed.
Obstructions were cleared in October, 1981. The data
from that point on is considered good for SOM-38-1,
however, SOM-38-2 experienced further problems with
obstructions in 1982.
•
-21-
