APPENDIX A: PLOT LOCATIONS

<br />95-4A & B: Planting Unit 95-4 is divided into two separate units as part of an ongoing study.
<br />Planting Unit 95-4A is on the non-topsoiled portion of the study site. The baseline runs along
<br />the west border of the site (Bo, B,~) with endpoints at metal posts marked with aluminum tags.
<br />Transects aze perpendiculaz and located at 3, 10, 14, 18, 20, 24, 30, 32, 36, and 44 meters.
<br />Planting Unit 95-4B is on the topsoiled portion of the study site. The baseline runs along the
<br />west border ofthe site (Bo, B44) with endpoints at metal posts mazked with aluminum tags.
<br />Transects are perpendicular and located at 6, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 30, 34, 38, and 40 meters.
<br />Endpoints of the transects are mazked with wooden stakes.
<br />96-I: Planting Unit 96-1 utilized two baselines. B1 runs along the southeast border of the unit
<br />and is marked with aluminum tags on metal boundary posts (Bo, B45). Transects are
<br />perpendicular and located at 0, 15, 30, and 45 meters. B2 is also located along the southeast
<br />border of the unit and is marked with aluminum tags on metal boundary posts (Bo, B45).
<br />Transects aze perpendiculaz and located at 0, 15, 30, and 45 meters. Endpoints of the transects
<br />aze mazked with wooden stakes.
<br />96-2: Planting Unit 96-2 utilized two baselines. B1 runs along the eastern border of the site and
<br />is marked with aluminum tags on metal boundary posts (Bo, B45). Transects aze perpendiculaz
<br />and located at 0, 15, 30, and 45 meters. B2 runs along the eastern border of the site and is
<br />mazked with aluminum tags on metal boundary posts (Bo, B45). Transects aze perpendicular and
<br />located at 0, 15, 30, and 45 meters. Endpoints of the transects aze mazked with wooden stakes.
<br />96-1W: Planting Unit 96-1 W-1 utilized two baselines. B1 runs along the southern border of the
<br />' unit and is mazked with aluminum tags on metal boundary posts (Bo, B45). Transects aze
<br />perpendicular and located at 0, 15, 30, and 45 meters. B2 is located directly to the north of B 1,
<br />runs along the center of the unit, and is marked with aluminum tags on metal boundary posts (Bo,
<br />' B45). Transects aze perpendiculaz and located at 0, 15, 30, and 45 meters. Endpoints of the
<br />transects are marked with wooden stakes.
<br />' 97-1A: Monitoring plot 97-1A is the first of four monitoring plots utilized on planting unit 97-1.
<br />The baseline begins near the junction of the drainage and access road and runs south. The
<br />baseline is marked with aluminum tags on metal boundary posts (Bo, B45). Transects are
<br />' perpendicular and located at 6, 11, 20, 32, and 41 meters. Endpoints of the transects aze mazked
<br />with wooden stakes.
<br />' 97-1B: Monitoring plot 97-1B is the second of four monitoring plots utilized on planting unit 97-
<br />1. The plot is adjacent to and southwest of the sediment point. The baseline begins along the
<br />' south edge of the sediment pond and extends northward. The baseline is mazked with aluminum
<br />tags on metal boundary posts (Bo, B45). Transects aze perpendiculaz and located at 4, 9, 15, 27,
<br />and 39 meters. Endpoints of the transects aze mazked with wooden stakes.
<br />97-IC: Monitoring plot 97-1 C is the third of four monitoring plots utilized on planting unit 97-1.
