~~ <br />(2) The additional monitoring portion of this report consists of <br />three separate sections; a discussion of the results of an <br />annual rill and gully inspection, an evaluation of <br />revegetation success, and a report on the hydrologic status of <br />the Bourg Mine which underwent final reclamation during the <br />Fall of 1988. <br />Rill and Gully Inspection <br />A rill and gully inspection was conducted at the Bourg <br />property on October 10, 1997. At that time it was noted <br />that the sediment control system has worked as designed. <br />All terraces were found to be in good condition. No new <br />reportable rills or gullies were located. <br />Flatiron Companies continues to monitor two previously <br />reported rills, 1990, both of which have been stablized <br />and is monitoring the north portion of the perimeter road <br />for potential rill development. Also the slope to the <br />southwest of the gravel pad is being closely watched for <br />potential problems. <br />A small rill in the southeast corner near the perimeter <br />road and in the undisturbed portion of the site was <br />stabilized. Two small rills along the perimeter road on <br />the north side of the property were also stabilized. <br />Vegetation Survey <br />The vegetation survey was conducted by Warren Keammerer, <br />Ph.d. on August 19, 1997. The results of that survey are <br />attached as Appendix A. It is Flatiron Companies' and <br />its consultant's assessment that the revegetation effort <br />has been successful. <br />Hydrologic Survey <br />Well depths were measured and water samples were <br />collected on June 15, 1997 and October 11, 1997. The <br />results of those samples are attached (Appendix B). <br />There is no indication that the mining and reclamation <br />activities at the Bourg Mine have had any adverse impact <br />on the hydrology of the area. <br />2 <br />
