On January 27, 1993 Core Laboratories-Aurora received ~ sample set
from Battle Mountain Gold's San Luis Mine that was to be analyzed
for a variety of inorganic parameters and radionucYides. The
samples were collected by a representative of Battle Mountain Gold
on 01/20, 01/21, and 01/22/93. On February 23, 1993 Alana Scott
of Battle Mountain Gold requested that Core Labs investigate
results for total cyanide and Weak Acid Dissociable (WAD) cyanide
generated on several of the samples. It was decided to perform
reanalyses of these particular samples and the results are
attached (Core Job Number 930308).
The following information is pertinent to the interpretation of
these data packages.
The results of the reanalyses for total and WAD cyanide are in
many cases significantly different than the results obtained
during the original analyses of these samples. It shol<lld be noted
that all reanalyses were performed past the published holding
times for these parameters. Although WAD cyan~de results
theoretically should not be greater than total Cyanide results
this situation existed for several of the original analyses. In
all cases except one this situation did not exist with results of
the reanalyses. The raw data for both the original Analyses and
reanalyses was thoroughly reviewed and all qual~ty control
associated with both sets of data met requirementes. fore Labs is
unable to adequately explain the anomoly associated with these
results at this time.
