Since critical t = 0.850 (one-tailed, alpha = 0.2, 49 df) and t° is greater than this critical
value, reclamation success is demonstrated for background woody plant density in BRB-
3..
For BRB-3, the only bond release block area in which any woody plant density standard
is actually operable, the woody plant concentration areas were sampled and the average
woody plant density value in those concentration areas was 2,867 stems per acre and
sample adequacy was achieved with a sample size of slightly over fifty because these
are shrub concentration areas where shrubless samples do not occur.
Statistical test of the BRB-3 shrub concentration area density values against the
standard is not necessary inasmuch as sample adequacy was achieved (Table 16) and
the mean (2867 stems per acre) exceeds the standard (1000 stems per acre).
The total extent of shrub concentration areas within BRB-3 was 112 ac, or 11.7% of its
. area. Hence the standard that there would be at least 5% of the BRB-3 area with at
least 1000 stems per acre has been met for 2006.
SPECIES DIVERSITY AND COMPOSITION
With regard to Mandatory Test A, that no single species comprise greater than 60%
relative cover in BRB-3, reference to Table 4 shows that the most abundant single
species (intermediate wheatgrass) comprised 17% relative first hit cover, far below the
60% threshold of concern. Hence Mandatory Test A) is passed.
With regard to Alternative Test B, Total Species Density, the following is calculated for
BRB-3:
Mountain Brush (MB) reference mean species density (omitting the noxious
weeds): 31.5 species per 100 sq.m.
mean-1.15`s=31.5-1.15(7.1)=23.3

25
