Cover by standing dead, litter, bare soil and rock <br />averaged 2, 12, 1 and 0 percent, respectively. Average species density was 32.8 species per <br />100sq. m. <br />PRODUCTION <br />(Table 10) <br />Total herbaceous production in 2006 was 637 pounds per acre. Native perennial cool season <br />grasses and native perennial (orbs were most prolific, contributing 339 and 287 pounds per acre, <br />respectively. <br />Sagebrush/Snowberry Reference Area <br />(Photographs 69 through 72, 74) <br />COVER <br />(Table 11) <br />• Native shrubs were the predominant lifeform observed in the Sagebrush/Snowberry Reference <br />Area, contributing 30 percent toward total first-hit vegetation cover. Of this, big sagebrush <br />(Seriphidium tridenfatum) contributed 14 percent and mountain snowberry (Symphoricarpos <br />rotundifolius) contributed 13 percent. Native perennial forbs and native perennial cool season <br />grasses made moderate contributions to cover, with 19 and 14 percent, respectively. <br />Total average vegetation cover for first hits was 64.7 percent. For herbaceous vegetation, total <br />average cover far first hits was 34.7 percent. Cover by standing dead, litter, bare soil and rock <br />averaged 3.4, 19.1, 12.8 and 0 percent respectively. Average species density was 30.1 species <br />per 100sq. m. <br />PRODUCTION <br />(Table 12) <br />Total herbaceous production in 2006 was 1,038.5 pounds per acre.
