Bill Lyle, /darado Mining Company
November 23, 2005
Page S
As shown in Table 2, the sample materials excavated from the Liberty Bell Area also demonstrate
relatively low acid generation potential (AGP range of <0.3 to 22.8, a mean concentration of 3.8, and a
median concentration of 1.4 tons CaCO3/1000 tons) and considerable neutralization potential (ANP range
of 11.7 to 104, a mean concentration of 34.5, and a median concentration of 24.8 tons CaCO3/1000 tons).
All samples had a positive NNP value except for two samples. The NNP values range from -5.92 to
103.0 tons CaCO3/1000 tons. The average NNP value for all 18 samples is 30.7 tons CaCO3/1000 tons
(median NNP value of 22.8 tons CaCO3/1000 tons). The ANP/AGP ratios range from 0.7 to 128.0 with
an average ANP/AGP ratio of 36.2 (median ANP/AGP ratio of 19.5). Based on the results of the ABA
tests, the vast majority of the repository materials from the Liberty Bell Area demonstrate a positive NNP
that is unlikely to generate acidic conditions and only two of the 18 samples have an ANP/AGP ratio less
than 3; both of which having an ANP/AGP ratio of 0.7. It is also believed the materials from the Liberty
Bell Area placed in the repository will be geochemically stable as placed.
