DMG Permit No. M-88-112 October Monthly Sampling Dear Mr. Dillie: All required sampling was completed during the month of October. The NANOIRO water treatment plant operated intermittently during the month. A total of 9,647,700 gallons of water was treated and discharged into Rito Seco during fhe month of October. All surface water stations were inspected and RS-4 and RS-6 were found to be dry. Vacuum on the lysimeters was verified and no water was present to sample. When we checked the piezometers on the main embankment of the tailings impoundment on 10/31 /00, the piezometers were dry or contained below 12 inches of water. The two west pit piezometers were measured for depth to water on 10/31 /00, with the following result: BF-1 was 28.38 ft and BF-2 was 31.91 ft. The other piezometers in the West Mine areo were also checked with the following result: PW-I was 28.95 ft, PW-2 was 29.16 ft, PW-3 was 35.98 ft and PW-4 was 30.15 ft. The underdrain was measured at approximately 22 gpm. The collection pond's leak detection system was pumped and sampled on 10/26/00. The leak was approximately 28 gpad. The seeps remain dry. With DMG approval, the brine water was pumped from the evaporation system collection pond to the tailings impoundment. A total of 2,570,300 gallons of water was pumped to the tailings impoundment.
