• FIRST HALF 1996 SUBSIDENCE SURVEY REPORT
Survey Data
During the first half of 1996, subsidence survey data was collected periodically from
established monuments on Routt County Road 27 (CR 27) and Routt County Road 33
(CR 33) in those areas underlain by gate roads or panel centers during periods of active
mining (refer to the Monthly Mine Update Map for monument locations). Table I
provides a swnmary of the collected data for stations R27 - R33 located on CR 27 over
the end of the 3 Southwest longwall panel undermined in January 1996 and stations
MONI - MON3 located on CR 33 over the gate roads and center of 9 Right longwall
panel undermined in June 1996.
II. Maps
Monument locations and the extent and sequence of underground development during
the period are presented on the Twentymile Coal Company - Foidel Creek Mine Monthly
Update Map for the period ending June 31, 1996. The 3 Southwest longwall panel was
initiated in July 199 and completed in February of 1996, as shown on the Monthly
Update Map. Segments of Routt CR 27 and CR 33 undermined during the first half 1996
• reporting period are shown on the Monthly Update Map. Surface topography in the
Eastern Mining District is presented on Map 23A -Sheet ? of 2.
III. Structures
Structures affected during the first half 1996 reporting period include CR 27, CR 33 and
the Yampa Valley Electric Association (YVEA) power line. Daily visual inspections of
CR 27 continued through 2/26/96. Daily visual inspections of CR 33 and the YVEA
power line were initiated on 5/6/96 and continued tlvough 8/11/96.
Selected inspection sheets from both roads and the power line are included in this report.
With the exception of the initial form completed. only those sheets showing other than no
additional impact observations are included. All daily inspection forms are available for
review at the mine office. No road damage requiring immediate repair work was
evidenced during the subsidence process although gravel additions and routine
maintenance occurred to prevent rough driving surfaces. TCC will affect permanent
repairs to CR 27 in cooperation with Routt County during 1996.
The YVEA power line was visually inspected on a periodic basis with no impacts evident
durring the period. Inspection of the power line was performed concurrently with the
daily visual inspections performed on CR 33.
•
