Mmth 2004 Kerr Cml Cmprry * 2003 Amaral Hyb 'no~Report * GtJPemit Na G80-006 ~ Pa€e 7
4.0 MINE AREA ALLUVIAL GROUNDWATER
Field measurements were taken az alluvial well AO.2A on a monthly basis from October 2002
through October 2003. Field data are presented in Appendix A, 2003 Field Data. Water samples
were collected and analyzed once during October 2002 and twice during 2003, in July, and October.
As of January 1999, the parameter list for alluvial well sample analysis was reduced to include only
major elemems and no trace metals. The individual analyses of samples collected are presented in
Appendix C, 2003 Mine Area Alluvial Water Qialiry Analyses. Table 1, 2003 Gtrmkeater C~aluy
Staristia, includes a summary of the water quality data for well AO-2A for the 2003 water yEar. The
mean field and laboratory puameter values for each of the past seven years are presented in Table 3,
Historic Mv~n Arm A11:rdal Water (~aluy Data. The water levels recorded for AO-2A over the last
seven years are shown on Figure 1, MireA>~ GrtrorlurrterLere's. Figure 2, ECza. TDS•WalA02A,
shows the relationship between electrical conductance and total dissolved solids levels over the last
seven years.
Well AO.2A is locazed in Bush Draw, downstream (east) of the notthem extent of the reclaimed Pit 1
area. In 1992, low wazer levek and the silted condition of well AO-2 resuhed in the inability to collect
samples from this location. Well AO-2A was completed to a depth of 14 feet in January 1993 and
was placed adjacent to well AO.2, replacing the existing well. See Map 1; Mv~A~Maluorir~Statiaa,
for general well location.

r,
f.
