INSPECTION REPORT
HAYDEN GULCH MINE
H-G COAL COMPANY - OWNER
OCTOBER 5, 1983
The inspection of the permanent waste dump located in the east half of
Section 30, T5N R881J was required in the Surface Coal Mining and re-
clamation operations - Permanent Regulatory program. The area bound-
aries on the attached map are only rough approximations.
1. Area A-1 is reclaimed and all slopes are 3:1 or flatter and
appear stable. Area A-2 is reclaimed. This area contains
slopes as steep as 2.3:1 but is a cut slope, not a fill em-
bankment, and it appears stable. Vegetative growth is evi-
dent in both A-1 and A-2 areas.
2. Area B has been recontoured, topsoiled, seeded, and mulched.
All slopes in Area B are 3:1 or flatter and appear stable.
Vegetative growth is evident.
3. Area C has been recontoured, topsoiled, seeded, and mulched.
Minor vegetative growth is evident and is expected to be as
productive as the other areas.
4. Area D has been recontoured to a 3:1 slope. The area has been
topsoiled, seeded and mulched. Vegetative growth is evident.
5. Drainage from the dump area is controlled by interceptor
channels and sediment control structures so as not to degrade
surface or ground water.
6. The waste dump is being constructed using recognized pro-
fessional standards.
7. All vegetative and organic matter has been removed from the
disposal area, and the topsoil has been stripped and stock-
piled far• future use.
