1989 PROJECTED SUBSIDENCE IMPACTS
•
Projected subsidence impacts are based on previous monitoring daCa and subsi-
dence protection plans, as well as 1989 mine plan designs at the Orchard Valley
Mine. The 1989 Monitoring Program will basically concentrate on the monitoring
of wide-spaced grid stations 6, 14, 89, 90, 92, and 93 which are located at the
Orchard Valley West Mine plus wide-spaced grid stations 19 and 27 along with
close-spaced grid stations 28-69, 42-51, and 201-224 that overlie the Orchard
Valley Mine.
Projected Impacts and Survey Monitoring
The subsidence impacts projected to occur during 1989 are virtually insignifi-
cant.
COVCC expects minimal movement of wide-spaced grid stations and high-resolution
grid stations during 1989. Development mining in conjunction with retreat pil-
lar extraction under overburden depths similar to 11 and 12 North panels while
utilizing partial pillaring methods should produce minimal subsidence movement
as measured within the Orchard Valley Mine.
