Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. <br />Southfield Mine <br />2001 ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT <br />Introduction <br />This Annual Reclamation Report documents all permanent reclamation activities conducted by <br />Energy Fuels Coal, Inc (EFC)) at the Southfield Mine during the 2001 calendaz year. EFCI <br />ceased coal mining and processing activities in late December 2000. EFCI subsequently filed for <br />permanent cessation of operations, and commenced reclamation of the site in August 2001. <br />Included with this report are tent, discussion, and maps, in accordance with the requirements of <br />Rule 2.04.13. Tn addition, the Division's Annual Reclamation Report form is completed and <br />attached hereto. <br />Disturbed. Backfilled. and Topsoiled Areas <br />No additional areas were disturbed during the reporting period. <br />Backfilling was performed only at the South (Monarch) Fan azea following removal of the fan <br />structure. Following removal of the fan, sealing the portal, and removing the historic portal <br />structure, approximately a 0.1 acre ana was backfilled and graded to complete reclamation. <br />Backfilling operations at the refuse disposal area and facility area aze anticipated to wmmence in <br />early 2002. <br />No areas were topsoiled during the reporting period. <br />Seeded or Planted Areas <br />During the reporting period, permanent seeding and mulching was completed on the portion of <br />the refuse pile covered with 4 feet of soil in 2000. <br />Current and Previous Reve,getated Areas <br />All previously revegetated areas are shown on the attached 2001 Annual Reclamation Report <br />maps for the Loadout Area (Figure 2) and Refuse Disposal Area (Figure 1). Previously <br />revegetated azeas on the refuse pile exhibit good growth and aze effectively controlling erosion. <br />At the loadout area the permanent vegetation establishment is slowly improving with the <br />continued drought conditions. <br />Additional Monitoring Information <br />No vegetation monitoring information is available for the period of this report. <br />
