1
1
IMPACTS AND FUTURE MONITORING
' Increased salt loading from the Mine No. 1 discharges have been observed
since 1982. They appear to Piave leveled off in 1986. While the salt
' loading lras increased it has not caused any material damage. High dissolved
manganese levels Piave occurred at Pond F. A change in stream designation
was obtained in 1988. Dissolved manganese is no longer a stream standard.
' The total recoverable manganese levels in Foidel Creek are well below the
stream standard. Localized increases in dissolved solids in the Foidel
' Creek alluvium have been observed; however, these increases are confined to
areas immediately adjacent to the mine and no material damage has or is
' expected to occur. As predicted, two Wadge Overburden wells have increased
dissolved solids levels. the inc rease is within predicted levels and since
' there are no water
l supply wells
d
l completed in this aquifer (except by the
i
t
f
Mi
N
2
ill
N
mines) no materia amage
eas or occur.
o
mpac
rom
ne
o.
w
s
have been observed.
1

1

1
1
1

1
1
' - 12 -
