• routinely exhibited water levels in the 7100 ft elevation range while replacement well FCM#2 exhibited levels <br />around the 6520 ft elevation during 1995. In the fall of 1995, we1195M001 was established in part to address the <br />apparent discrepancy in water levels between wells 006-83~SC and FCM#2. Water levels from well 95M001 <br />confirm that levels recorded from well FCM #2 were accurate (Figure 31). Water levels in well 95M001 <br />continue to decline since the 1999 water year. Significant inflows from the Trout Creek Sandstone into the mine <br />workings have not been encountered to date to account for the appazent lowering of the potentiometric surface in <br />[he Ttout Creek fonttation, as indicated by the water level data previously recorded for well 006-83~8C. Some <br />dewatering of the aquifer does occur from the pumping of well 001-83-106 to supply the mine with domestic <br />water. During 2002, the southernmost Trout Creek well, 001-83-107 (Figure 30), continued to exhibited lower <br />water levels in the 6830 R elevation range, while the northemmost well, 008-75-EFC (Figure 32), remained about <br />the same level (6612 - 6613 ft elevation) as the previous yeaz. Well FBR-2-E (Figure 34) continued to exhibit <br />water levels around the 6665 ft elevation during 2002, which is similaz to the previous three water years. Water <br />levels in well 001-83-106 (Figure 29) continue a slight increase, as seen during the previous three water years. <br />Well 95M001 (Figure 31) continues to decline, with water levels around the 6360 ft elevation, an historical low, <br />during 2002. The exact reason for this decline is unknown. Well 97012TC (Figure 36) continued the steady <br />decline apparent since monitoring began in the 1998 Water yeaz. Well 97013TC (Figure 38) continued to show <br />the minor fluctuations apparent since monitoring began in the 1998 Water year. <br />Field measurements are presented in Tables 15 and 16 for wells 001-83-107 and 00875-EFC. Field parameter <br />measurements on these Trout Creek Sandstone wells monitored during 2002 returned values within anticipated <br />• ranges with no mine related impacts evident. Field measurements and water quality parameters for wells 001-83- <br />106, 95M001, FBR-2-E, 97012TC, and 97013TC are provided on Table 14, and Tables 17 through 20. At well <br />001-83-106 (Table 14) no new minimum or maximum values were noted. At well 95M001 (Table 17) a new <br />maximum value was recorded for phosphate. The 2002 pH readings continue to be relatively high (10,06 and <br />10.14) at this site, although no new maximums were recorded. At well FBR-2-E (Table 18) no new minimum or <br />maximum values were recorded. No new minimum or maximum values were recorded at well 97012TC (Table <br />19). We1197013TC (Table 20) established some new maximum values for lab conductivity and sulfate in 2002. <br />However, none of these values fell outside the typical historical range of other wells in this aquifer. The database <br />for these two wells is limited because of the relatively short period data has been collected at these sites. <br />Fish Creek Sandstone: Two Fish Creek Sandstone wells (91M001 and 91M004) had previously required <br />monitoring for water levels on a quarterly basis, and now require monitoring on a semiannual basis. No water <br />quality analyses is required. These requirements were met during 2002. An additional well (Ashley) requires <br />semi-annual monitoring for water levels and field parameters, and annual water quality sampling. Tables 21, 22, <br />and 23 provide summaries of the 2002 Water Year data collected at each site. Figure 40 provides graphical <br />representation of the period of record water levels measured at sites 91M001 and 91M004. Water levels at the <br />Ashley well (Figure 41) dropped appreciably after subsidence, but have continued to recover since 1998. Field <br />measurements and water quality parameters for the Ashley well are provided on Table 23. This well established <br />some new maximum and minimum values for tested parameters in 2002, however, none of these values fell <br />• outside the typical historical range of other wells in this aquifer. Note that the Ashley well is privately owned by <br />the Ashley family, who have a small cabin on the site. The Ashley's aze an elderly retired couple who typically <br />use the cabin for brief periods in the summer. Following their summer last visit, they locked the well. A water <br />6 <br />
