' Maintenance Required:
Uncover burrows and re-compact in-situ backfill to dam construction specifications to maintain the
integrity of the dam. Reseed disturbed areas. This maintenance work should be accomplished before the
next high water season, but not during times the ground is frozen.
' Revegetation of the upstream, and some areas of the downstream, slopes is required to inhibit erosion
of the embankmen[ and burrowing activity. Reseeding is recommended a[ [he next optimum planing
season.
' Recommend:
Additional inspection at a time of high water is recommended. The areas of burrow activity need to be
' probed to determine if seepage is occurring (no seepage or signs of prior seepage were noted during this
inspection).
' Quarterly monitoring of erosion activity of unprotected embankment areas and the narrowing crest area
is recommended, and repairs accomplished should the integrity of the dam become threatened.
Erection of raptor perches to reduce rodent activity is recommended. After repairs to the embankments,
' quarterly monitoring of rodent activity is recommended. Should burrows continue to be a problem,
implementation of additional rodent control procedures to halt [he burrowing activity on the dam may
be required.
