2.2 F:~CILITY DESCRIPTIOr <br />The Henderson Mill is located in the Williams Fork Valley The mine, located beneath Red <br />Mountain near Empire, Colorado, transports ore to the Henderson Mill for processing. The <br />mil]"s product is molybdenum disulfide (;VfoS,) concentrate which is transported out of the state <br />for final processing. <br />The Henderson iVfill is undergoing a construction project that will replace ore haulage using an <br />electric train system to a conveyor haulage system. The construction of the new conveyor will <br />follow the current route of the +~ain haulage s,+ste- witl: the exception of a 1.1 mile overland <br />route crossine Forest Service lands. The construction site extends from the Henderson portal to <br />the Henderson vfill, approximately 7 miles in leng~.h. The conveyor crosses private land for <br />approximately 6 miles of the project's length. <br />Ihcfuded in the construction aze activities associated with earthwork. excavation a,td installation <br />of footings and steel suppott st.^:ctures, the construction cf two ore transfer stations. and the <br />installation of the conveyor. The project is expected to run for approximately nvo years with <br />initial operations scheduled in late 1999. <br />2.3 SPILL HISTORY <br />None. This construction activity is distinct from moons and milling activities at dte Henderson <br />Mill. - - <br />3.0 CERTIFICATIOVS <br />The Climax Molybdenum Company (Climax), TIC, and P.SI-RCC aze committed to compliance <br />with the procedures outlined is :::is Spiil Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan. <br />It is L'~e intent of managemen*. to assure that spills are prevented: however, if spills do occur, <br />Climax and its contractor<_ •-'i! ~:*.ilize all reasonable r°sources unde- ~~, a::_;,i to prevent off- <br />site contamination of ~:~ waters of the State of Colorado. Climax intends to implement all facets <br />of this SPCC by June 1, 1998.
