Long
Dwimon Director
Re: Sampling Results, Collection and Tailings Ponds, San Luis Project, TR-06, M-1988-1 l2
Dear Mr. Long:
A letter from the Division was sent to you on December 6, 2000 regarding missing lab reports for
the bi-weekly water samples which were collected from the collection pond and the tailings pond
approximately September l9, 2000. You mailed lab reports to the Division for samples collected
on September 19, 2000 from the referenced ponds. However, the lab results indicate that these
were the weekly samples since they were only tested for cyanide. Remember, bi-weekly samples
are tested for calcium, copper, cyanide (total and WAD), iron, sodium and zinc (plus arsenic in
the tailings pond). The required bi-weekly water samples may not have been collected on
September 19, 2000. Possibly, [hey were collected on the 18th or 20th (the previous samples
were collected on September 5th and subsequent samples °°°~Ow"""~~,e,,,,,re''''',~~,,c~~~__o_llected on October 2, 2000).
l-~-cal
Please review your files and submit a bi-weekly lab reaort or the September 18, 19, or 20, 2000
date for the two ponds to the Division by January 12, 2001 (the previous due date will be
extended one week).
If you have any questions, please give me a call.
Sincerely,
James Dillie
Environmental Protection Specialist
