EFFLUENT MONITORING
' One sediment control structure (Pond B) is monitored at Mine 3. In addition, Station 24 is
located at the reclaimed area of the abandoned Middle Creek underground mine.
' Flows
The flow rate data for the effluent sites aze summarized on Table 14. Discharges from these
' ponds aze effected by seasonal variations in precipitation. Only one dischazge event was
detected at Station 24 and only two dischazge events were detected at Station 76 in 1990. The
dischazges from this station are generally small. All the 1990 discharge events occurred during
spring runoff.
Water Quality
Summaries of the water quality data for the two effluent sites aze presented on Tables 21 through
' 24 and on Figure 21. The plot shows that the dischazge sites did not have any detectable effect
on the water quality in Middle Creek. Neither site is exhibiting any long term trends. Since
' none of these sites have significant discharges during the irrigation season they do not cause any
significant impacts.
-8-
