As these are the first
annual reports, affected acres during the year are marked to
include operating locations from July 1, 1976 (effective date
of HB-1065) to September 15, 1979 (about a month prior to the
10/10/79 permit anniversary date). As the several phases of
mining (topsoil, overburden, deposit, etc.) make it impractical
to designate acreages at the anniversary date, general operating
areas only are indicated from the standpoint of first disturb-
ance ir. time. As an er.ample, there is often a 100 percent over-
lap of last year (outlined in black) and next year (outlined in
yellovr) operating areas. Also, because of practical considera-
tions, next year's operating areas and bond additions often
encompass several years of future operations.
