The
following should supply any additional information desired
for record purposes.
1. Exhibit B - Mining Plan
Attached is a cross-section sketch of this quarry
which shows the limited depth of the gypsum deposit.
We have no drill hole information at this location
and the thickness of the gypsum could decrease to the
west. The Mining Plan is for short successive north-
south cuts through the knoll with overburden from each
cut deposited eastward into the completed cut.
2. Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
A. Seeding, fertilization and revegetation--The attached
letter from Mr. McCarty, District Soil Conservation
Service Conservationist states that the poor soil
doesn't seem to support vegetation. It may be that
some limestone fines would neutralize the gypsum con-
taminated soil to improve revegetation. No reclama-
tion would be practical prior to completion of the
removal of the entire gypsum deposit on this small
knoll.
P/[r. McCarty's recommended seeding mixture for the
nearby Slab Canyon Quarry should be satisfactory for
revegetation of this site. Fertilization will be used
as indicated by test prior to reseeding.
