G'
STATE OF COLORADO
Roy Romer, Govei
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
DAVID C. SHELTON, Dlrsctor
February 18, 1987
Mr. W. T. Hall
748 22 Road
Grand Junction, Colorado 81501
Re: W. R. and W. T. Hall - "Hall Pit" - File No. M-83-142
Dear Mr. Hall:
On Februry 17, 1987, our Division received the E350.00 annual fee and annual
report for the above captioned operation. Therefore, I will plan to recommend
to the Mined Land Reclamation Board during the upcoming February 25-25, 1987
meeting that the formal public hearing to consider a possible violation
against your company for failure to submit these required items be withdrawn.
Unless you hear from me to the contrary, you may presume that the Board
approved this recommendation.
Please take note of the December 21st anniversary date of your permit for this
operation and submit your annual fee and report on or before that date next
year.
I note that your annual report states that the Hall Pit is no longer active.
Please be advised that Rule 1.6 of the Rules and Regulations for Minerals has
recently been revised by the Mined Land Reclamation Board to more clearly
delineate the duties of an operator whose mining operation is in a state of
temporary inactivity. A copy of this new Rule is enclosed.
Please review this Rule carefully and notify our Division concerning the
status of your operation. If the operation is in temporary cessation, please
submit a Notice of Temporary Cessation that complies with the requirements of
Rule 1.62. The start of the five-year temporary cessation period should be
specified in the Notice and should be the date on which the mining operation
ceased. If, on the other hand, the mining operation should not be considered
to be in temporary cessation, please outline the reasons that this operation
should still be considered to be active.
L
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
