Additional Page
2001 Annual Report
Winkler Light Aggregate Quarry
M-1989-065
Centennial Materials, Inc.
Anniversary Date: April 26
Overview of Permit Year: During the 2000/2001 operating year there was a great deal of activity at this
site. Most of the operation remains very much as it was last year with a small northward expansion of
the Main Quarry (see Map 36). There was limited activity at the Cut Stone Quarry portion and that
disturbance remains rather small.
Annual Report Maps: Enclosed are four color maps showing the primary areas of disturbance and the
type of disturbance occurring in each area. Map 1 shows the entire site and is primarily a guide map.
Map 2 includes the Cutstone portion and Maps 3a and 36 show the information for the Main Quarry
area.
Affected Lands: The amount of affected land has increased to 84.8 acres.
A significant portion of the total affected land is contained in the access road. The Cut Stone
portion amounts to about 5 acres, including the access road to that site. The remainder is involved in the
main quarry operation, stockpiles, and office area.
Revegetation: No additional revegetation was done in the last year as no land was available.
Expected Activity (2001 /2002): There may be some additional expansion of the Main Quarry
northward during the next year, but that would probably not occur until lace in the permit year. The
Cut Stone quarry area may expand slightly
Bonding: This operation is covered by a self bond. The Division recently found a problem with the
self bonding and this is being corrected through a succession of operator and submittal of other financial
information.
Acreage Adjusdttents: Acreages reported this year are even more precise than they were last year due to
the implementation of an additional measurement process. All maps have been converted to AutoCad
which provides greater precision in drawing lines and calculating areas. This will work in conjunction
with a GPS locating system that currently uses a grid on the maps but may eventually provide a direct
link between the GPS data and the map.
Centennial Materials 2001 Annual Report M-1989-065 Winkler Light Aggregate Quarry Page 1 of 1
