Mr. John Weinman
November 7, 1997 Page 3
Ground water flow and quality
Water sampled from the alluvial monitoring site, HGDAL 3, continued to have a very
high SO, and Na content as it has in past years. All other parameters measured in 1996
were within historical ranges. The water is not suitable for irrigation, livestock watering,
or drinking water. The water levels in the monitoring well 1996 were similar to those in
previous years.
Comparison of 1996 results and predictions in PHC and CHIS
The data contained in the report are consistent with the PHC (probable hydrologic
consequences) section of the permit which predicted there would be no adverse impacts
to the hydrologic system. The original CHIS (Cumulative Hydrologic Impact Study)
predicted there would be no regional hydrologic impacts due to the small size of the
Loadout site. The data from 1996 support the prediction in the CHIS.
Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~rven ~~
Tom Kaldenbach
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: David Berry, CDMG
96AHR.
