We
should consider conducting the manganese analysis as total, not total recoverable
to achieve consistency with the standazds. Other such discrepancies also seem to
exist. Since it is our understanding that CYCC will be submitting a minor revision
regarding the monitoring program at Eckman Pazk, this will be discussed at that
time.
CYCC Response:
The reference to the stream standard for manganese should have read 1000 ug/L (1.0
mg/1). The aquatic standard for manganese is listed as total recoverable in the Basic
Standards and Methodologies for Surface Water in Colorado. The reference to "total"
in the Basin standards is just to distinguish it from the dissolved standard for drinking
water.
Should you have any further concerns, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Marcus A.
