The
company address is 131 1 Bentwood Drive, Evansville, Indiana 47711. The permit area is located
on 900 acres of private land approximately 7 miles northwest of Weston, Colorado at an elevation
of6850 MSL in Section 25, T33S, R68W. Mine disturbance including the facilities areas, sediment
control system, and ancillary facilities occupy approximately 145 acres. Several small areas of
disturbance have been reclaimed over the past 20 years including four bench faces of the RDA, out
slopes of the Development Waste Pile, areas along Highway 12, and areas of the West Portal. The
attached Table 1 identifies these areas. Also, as requested by the Division, attached is a summary
of disturbed acreage for the site.
Due to the temporary cessation of operations at the mine, facilities maintenance has focused on the
sediment control system and repair of erosion damage at the RDA. The fourth bench of the RDA
was reclaimed during 1999 which accounted for approximately 2 acres. The attached maps show
the areas that have been reclaimed.
Should you have questions or need additional information concerning these request, please do not
hesitate to let me know.
Sincerely,
~ ~~~
Jerry H.
