4.1.6 Wells Associated With the NSI Proiect
• Production well 1-3A (C0~358-04646) was recompleted to a Dissolution Surface Aquifer
monitoring well. A subsidence monitoring well, 2M-TDR was drilled and completed with TDR
~ •
cables from 55 feet above the Dissolution Surface, to just above the 6-R zone. Well 2M-TDR
was located within 100 feet of 5H and 6H intersection with 1A cavity. It is equipped with four
TDR cables terminating at 20 feet intervals starting at 1823, 1803, 1783 and 1763 feet from
ground level. The well is cemented to surface. A second subsidence well was drilled after all
four 2M-TDR cables failed. Well 3M-TDR was drilled twenty feet north of 2M-TDR. Cables
were installed above the Dissolution Surface similar to 2M-TDR, but a 4'/cinch OD pipe was
installed for backup logging capability.
Shut-in injection well 93-4H was plugged and abandoned. A pipe well marker was installed at
the surrace per BLM requirements.
Summary of NSI wells is as follows:
As of 1/1/2Q04 Nine active production wells
Six shut in production wells (one lacking connection to cavities)
Eighteen active monitoring wells
One shut in sonar access well
Four active subsidence/V1/L monitoring wells
One raw water supply well, 90-1
I .
Refer to Table 4-1 for names and descriptions of all existing wells.
11
