We intend to continue mining operations into 2000. The
enclosed revised Appendix C map illustrates the surveyed acreage which has been reclaimed (27.57
acres, including 1.03 acres newly reclaimed in 1999) and the unreclaimed acreage which has been
mined (4.56 acres) or is simply associated disturbance (10.78 acres). Ncw disturbance in 1999 (2.60
acres) involved topsoil stripping for pit advancement in Mining Areas 4, 5 and 6.
Topsoil salvaged ahead of pit advancement was either placed directly onto the area prepared for
permanent reclamation at a depth of approximately I8 inches or placed into a temporary stockpile at the
east edge of topsoil strip advance. The topsoil in the temporary stockpile will be used for permanent
reclamation in 2000.
The projection for the 1999-00 report period (October 26, 1999 through October 25, 2000) is for
approximately 2.26 acres of new disturbance in Mine Areas 4, 5 and 6.
