Mr. Ralph Paulsen
Page Two
Pebruary 22, 1984

As you know, we have recently submitted the 1963 Seneca II Mine
Annual Hydrology Report to the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
for review. In this report, we have requested relief from monitoring
a number of trace metals in ground, surface and NPDES samples because
of their consistently low concentrations. Because some of the samples
noted above appear to be anomalous with respect to the historic data
for particular sample sites, we stated in the report that "a letter
regarding this issue (anomalous data) will be sent to Bookcliffa Laboratory
ae soon as this report is completed in order to correct any additional
samples which may have also experienced instrument drift".
As I hope you realize, we have been very pleased with your work
to date, and look forward to working with you down the road; but ae
you can understand, your attention to this matter would be greatly
appreciated. We look forward to hearing from you soon. If you have
any questions, please call.
Sincerely,
j~~
Slade Dingman,
Hydrogeologist
SD:kt
cc: 8endra ~lch~ Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
Jim Lunan, PCC
Norm Nielsen, PCC
Tom Wainwright, PCC
