RECEIVED
To: State of Colorado NOV 2 8 20M
Division of Minerals and Geology Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman St. Room 215
From: Gary Feiner
Plant Manager
TXI, Boulder
RE: Permit No. M1988108 Western Aggregates, Mining Report Data
Date 11/04/00
Western Aggregates, TXI Boulder Permit#M1988108 is actively mining and reclaiming
at 11728 Hwy. 93near Boulder. During the year ending in 2000, pit benching that was needed
was completed. The desired quarry floor elevation was reached at the north end of the pit.
Quarry depth allowed in the permit ----desired depth reached. Reclamation will resume on the
North side of the pit in early spring of 2001. (See picture "A" in the#1 area) Over burden was
stockpiled on the north face for reclamation. Reclamation will consist of placing over burden on
a max 3 to I grade and seeding according to the reclamation plan on file. The mine road was
moved from the North side to the South side of the pit. This makes the road safer in the winter
months and reduces truck travel. The road relocation ramp is marked in picture `B" section#2
the ramp is located within the area previously disturbed. No new disturbance is expected in the
next year.
TXI Boulder Permit #M1988108, year 2001 activities include completing about ten acres
in reclamation. Mining will continue in a southward direction, we don't expect any additional
surface disturbance in the coming year. Mining lower benches will provide enough mineable
tons for the next year. We are planning to move the makeup water pond to the south in the near
future. This will allow us continue to reclaim more of the north wall, possibly sooner than
expected.
TXI Bolder is continuing their Knapp weed control program on all of their leased and fee
property. TXI is contracting the same herbicide applicator as Rocky Flats. TXI believes
combining the spraying efforts provides for a more consistent eradication effort. We believe this
is also consistent with countywide effort to solve the Knapp weed problem.
Gary
