TXI BOULDER ~i.
To: State of Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman Street
From: Gary Feiner RECEIVED
Plant Manager NOV 2 5 2002
TXI Boulder
Division of Minerals and Geology
RE: Permit No. M1988-108
Western Aggregates, Mining Report Data
Date 11/06/2002
Western Aggregates TXI Boulder Permit Number 1988-108 is actively
mining and reclaiming at 11728 Hwy. 93 near Boulder. During the year ending
in 2002 all pit benching has been completed and floor elevation on the north
side of the pit has been reached. Quarry depth in the permit--- desired depth
reached. Reclamation is still ongoing since spring of 2001 and we are about to
a point in which we will be able to grade and seed in 2003. With the drought
we had this last year we elected not to seed and continue to work on grading
and slopping the north side so that when we get the rains we will be ready to
seed. We will continue to move overburden on the north east face and will
eventually move the pond area that we have now to the south and reclaim the
whole north face as we continue to mine toward the south.
TXI Boulder Permit #1988-108 year 2003 will include finish grading
approximately 12 acres and then seeding that twelve acres in 2003. See picture
A section 1 of the reclamation area. We will continue to mine toward the
southward direction and don't plan on any surface disturbance in FY2003.
With the amount of mineable area we have open we won't need to disturb any
more surface area.
We still have an ongoing Knapp weed program in place and we are still using
the same herbicide applicator as our neighbors (Rocky Flats). This area
includes all of TXI Boulder's leased and fee property. We believe that a
combined effort helps to control Knapp weed countywide.
Gary Feiner
TXI Boulde~~ /
