This pit HAS NOT
been granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS operated more than
180 days this year. Mining has taken place in the southern 160
acres covered by current county regulations. There has been no
mining within 200 feet of the Peck Creek tributary canyon as
required. The Annual Report map is an excerpt from the application
maps showing the Southeast portion of the mine.
We will deal specifically with each of the Annual Report
questions as required in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations and
the Annual Notice Letter.
(1) We began mining on 6 field stone areas this year disturbing
less than 5.0 acres as allowed in the permit. We also started
mining a slab stone area covering approximately 0.51 acres
near the Pinon Mine in Stage 1. We also, removed materials
stockpiled in past years that are located within the Stone
Yard area and surrounding the Siloam Mine. Field stone mining
is allowed in both stages simultaneously but reclamation is to
follow immediately. The following table shows the status of
the area, in acres, disturbed at the mine:
(2)
DISTURBANCE':.:' :.: ' :: ::::.:::.:::. ::.'::STAGE:1.:;; ::: :.;STAGE 2:.': ::TOTALS:::
Field stone reclaimed (green) 1.60 0.00 1.60
Slab stone mining (blue) 0.51 0.00 0.51
Active field stone mining (red) 0.00 0.29 0.29
Topsoil stockpiles (tan) 0.41 0.00 0.41
Stone Storage (purple) 2.52 0.29 2.81
No reclamation was required this year in the slab stone mining
area.
