David Berry
October 8 , 1990
Page Two
CYCC Response:
Cyprus pumps some bedrock wells one day and then samples them one
to two days later. This is done because of the low yield of some
of the bedrock wells. The water level measured before the well is
pumped is the static water level. Water levels should not be
recorded for the day the well is sampled because the measured water
level may not be representative of the static water level since it
has been recently affected by the pumping.
MLRD CONCERN:
3 . It appears that the lead value for well 008-77-58 (May 18,
1989) is a data entry error. Please correct as needed.
CYCC Response:
The lead concentration of 20 ug/l for well 008-77-58 measured on
18 May 1989 appears to be a good measurement. The reported
concentration is at the detection limit of 20 ug/L and is within
the range normally reported from some of the bedrock wells.
MLRD CONCERN:
Alluvial Wells -
All requirements were met.
CYCC Response:
No response necessary.
MLRD CONCERN:
Spoil Wells -
1. Why were the various metals analyzed by the total recoverable
method rather than the dissolved method, for well 008-SP-5A
(May, 1989) ?
CYCC Response:
The laboratory erred and analyzed the sample by the total
recoverable method instead of the dissolved method.
