The
purpose of this letter is to clarify the information sent to the Division.
Attached is a schematic showing the approximate location ofthe sampling locations. Comparing
the schematic to the relative compaction results, it can be seen that Sample Location Nos. Ol
through 04 did not meet the 90% maximum dry density compaction standard. These sample
locations were chosen to show the difference between the area compacted with a "sheepsfoot"
(Sample Location Nos. 06 through O10) and the refuse pile entrance area which was wheel-rolled
(Sample Location Nos. Ol through 04). The wheel-rolled area did not meet the compaction
standard, the area will be recompacted with a "sheepsfoot" (which has been shown to meet or
exceed the compaction standard) prior to placement of another lift.
Ifyou have any questions please notify me.
Sincerely,
~a~
Henry A. arbe
Environmental Coordinator
Enclosure
xc: K.
