September 2002 6
Energy Fuels Coal, Inc. 200( Annual Hydrology Report
Well MW-8 was mined-through in 1993 and immediately went dry. Subsequent monitoring
showed that the borehole had collapsed to a point 336 feet below the surface. The water level
recovered and gradually increased from the 280 foot level after early 1996. The sustained
recharge of the well may indicate that sub-surface conditions stabilized. In the final quarter of
the 1999 monitoring period, however, the well casing collapsed at approximately 250 feet
from ground level, malting the water level measurement impossible.
The approved ground water monitoring program adequately monitors potential impacts of
mining on the ground water system. The data collected through the period of this report
indicate that no significant ground water impacts have occurred as a result of mining.

l

su r-~-
