LIDDLE
DECEMBER 2, 1985
PAGE 2
Concern B - Spoils Springs
By the end of April, 1986, CYCC will complete a spoil spring and seep
survey capable of identifying the spoil spring waters leaving the regraded
spoils. A proposed monitoring program will be submitted to the CMLRD and CDOH
by May 15, 1986, and provided regulatory approval is obtained, the monitoring
program will be installed by the end of June.
Concern C -Parameters of Concern
Chemical values from spoils springs will be compared to the CDOH stream
water quality standards and parameters included as effluent limitations. Once
this information is available and based upon joint meetings with the CDOH and
CMLRD, CYCC will request that adjustments be made in our monitoring program.
Concern D - Reevaluation of Hydrologic Monitoring Program
In order to determine whether
CYCC will reevaluate their hydrologic
this review a technical revision will
revised monitoring program. Review of water levels in spoil
wells reveals that during winter periods water levels are very low (one well
is dry), making testing infeasible at this time. Therefore, testing will be
completed during late spring or early summer of 1986.
Concern F - Remodeling of Spoils Aquifer
A preliminary spoils spring aquifer model, based on data from mines in
the local area, will be prepared and submitted to the CMLRD by January 31,
1986. This preliminary model will be further refined based upon the moni-
toring data obtained in 1986.
Concern G - Elevated TDS and 804 Levels
An evaluation of a water mass balance for Fish and Foidel Creeks in-
cluding predictions of future stream water quality will be completed and sub-
mitted prior to next spring's runoff.
Mine 3 Letter
Concern Over Bailing of Wells
CYCC will commence a program to bail all bedrock ground water wells at
both the Mine 3 and Eckman Park sites. Both bailed and unbailed samples will
be collected in the interim, allowing a comparison of the two methods.
