Pendleton
EASTSIDE COAL CO
(Permit No. C 4-0
r„=¢x
ALL, 1985 SUBSIDENCE MONITORING REPORT
In response to your request, I have reviewed the subsidence monitoring data
summary submitted by Eastside Coal Company for the Eastside underground coal
mine. The report presents survey results for May and September, 1985 surveys
of the six subsidence monuments currently installed above the Eastside
underground coal mine.
At this point in time, mining is limited at the Eastside Mine. the Monument
surveys detect minimal movement of the six monuments, most likely attributable
to climatic and survey error effects.
Because of the limited mining completed to date at the Eastside Mine, the data
summary will suffice at this point in time. However, in the future, the
subsidence monitoring reports should include, at a minimum, a map depicting
extraction limits as of the date of the survey and a text comparison of the
observed subsidence versus projected subsidence. In addition, the report
should include a brief comparative discussion of projected versus secondary
affects of subsidence upon structures and renewable resource lands.
/ljc
cc: Mike Long
4696E
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
