<br />1 <br />1 <br />__ Banks and Gesso LLC <br />5.0 Description of Proposed Use <br />5.1 List of Proposed Uses <br />ASCI wishes to have approval for the following uses on the property: <br />1 <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />^ Sand and gravel mining and processing <br />^ Reclamation to a water storage reservoir <br />^ Ready mixed concrete plant <br />^ Outdoor vehicle parking and storage of construction <br />equipment related to ASCI's business <br />^ Concrete recycling (i.e. importation of hardened concrete, <br />crushing, stockpiling and reuse). <br />^ Maintenance facility. <br />^ Office <br />^ Minor uses ancillary to the above listed uses. <br />The Vicinity Map shov+rs the general location of the property and the Site Plan <br />Map shows the location of these uses. Existing buildings will be used for <br />maintenance, office and some storage. The only new structures that is planned <br />is the concrete batch plant. <br />5.2 Sand and Gravel Mining and Processing <br />The Site Plan Map shows the area and phases of sand and gravel mining as well <br />as the initial and final location of the processing plant. The Post Mining Land <br />Use Map shows the configuration of the water storage reservoir. <br />Mining Plan <br />Overview <br />The applicant proposes to develop the site as a sand and gravel mining and <br />processing operation with ancillary and compatible uses of concrete production <br />and construction materials recycling. Approximately 32 acres of the total permit <br />area acreage of appro:timately 52 acres is proposed for mining (see Site Plan <br />Map). A 3 acre parcel outside the slurry wall, (Area 2) would be wet-mined and <br />backfilled to grade. The Applicant also proposes to wet-mine a six acre parcel <br />(Area 3), outside the slurry wall and adjacent to the South Platte River, subject to <br />the appropriate permit:; and conditions. An Amendment to this permit will be <br />applied for should the other necessary approvals and permit be obtained. After <br />mining is complete, the excavated area will be reclaimed as awater-storage <br />reservoir surrounded by an engineered, impermeable bentonite slurry wall that <br />will be constructed in phases, during the mining operations. The edges of the <br />reservoirs will be reclaimed to an irregular shoreline with wetland vegetation <br />gradually establishing itself.
